Rafael’s (Rafa to us all) journey with yoga began in 2005, initially as a way to complement his martial arts training. Over time, what started as a physical practice evolved into a deeper exploration of breath, awareness, and inner stillness. In 2019, he completed his 200-hour Vinyasa and Yin teacher training in Ecuador with Cheryl Oliver, a transformative experience that broadened his understanding of yoga’s impact both on and off the mat.
In 2021, Rafael left behind a two-decade career in banking to pursue his calling in health and wellness. Since then, he has continued to refine his teaching through advanced trainings including the Power Living Evolve Teacher Program, Advanced Vinyasa, and studies with renowned teacher Annie Carpenter.
In Rafael’s classes, students are invited to explore mindful movement, breath awareness, and embodied presence. His approach is grounding and intentional, encouraging practitioners to cultivate connection, curiosity, and calm that extends well beyond the studio.
