Inversion and Arm Balance Workshop with Mel Farrar ~ Sunday 16th March ~ 11am to 1pm
Without the right knowledge and support, arm balances and inversions can often seem too challenging, intimidating, or inaccessible. This two-hour informative workshop is designed to help you practice arm balances and inversions in a safe, accessible, and progressive way so that you can experience your yoga practice in a new light while unlocking your potential.
You’ll be provided with foundational knowledge and practical learning to help you develop awareness as to how each part of your body should be engaged and aligned when in certain asanas (physical postures). We’ll also explore how your breath can enhance your practice, supporting both strength and balance.
The workshop will include strength and conditioning exercises specifically designed to prepare you for arm balances and inversions, ensuring you have the foundation needed to progress safely. Using props and the wall for added accessibility, we’ll teach you how to enter and exit these poses with confidence and control. You’ll learn key poses like Crow Pose (Bakasana), Flying Splits (Eka Pada Koundinyasana), Firefly Pose (Tittibhasana), Shoulder Stand (Sarvangasana), Headstand (Sirsasana), Forearm Stand (Pincha Mayurasana), and Handstand (Adho Mukha Vrksasana), alongside helpful transitions that will open the door to new possibilities in your practice.
